Ms. Samantha Marx

Ms. Marx has been teaching elementary school for ten years. She grew up in San Marino and received her B.A. in Psychology at Scripps College. She began her teaching career after joining Teach for America in 2002, and has taught grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 at various points in her career. In 2008, Ms. Marx received her M.A. in Education and California Multiple Subjects credential from Claremont Graduate University where she earned the Lincoln Spencer Literacy Award. This will be her fourth year teaching 4th grade at Stephen S. Wise.

Ms. Marx believes that good teaching is not just about imparting knowledge to students but teaching students the skills they need to become life-long learners, critical thinkers, and compassionate individuals ready to give back to the world. Ms. Marx enjoys keeping her students excited about learning by engaging their senses and integrating computer technology into the curriculum.
