Music

The music program at Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School is off to a fabulous start! The Grades 1 & 2 Choir, the Grades 3 & 4 Chorus and the Elementary School Orchestra all performed for their grandparents and special guests at Midor L’Dor in November. What a fabulous concert it was! These terrific groups will be giving concerts throughout the year, both at school and in the community. As a matter of fact, the Grades 3 & 4 Chorus and the Grades 5 & 6 Vocal Ensemble will be performing for Chanukah at Sherman Oaks Westfield Mall on Thurs. Dec. 8. They will also be singing at a luncheon for Hadassah at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Wed. Dec. 14. The Grades 1 & 2 Choir will sing for the ECC children on the morning of Dec. 14, as well as give their first after school concert that day. They will also be singing for the residents at the Jewish Home for the Aging on Thurs. Dec. 15.

There are many upcoming musical events that will be a thrill for everyone. The Beginning Instrumental Program (BIP) will have their Winter Concert on Tues. Jan. 31, and the entire 3rd grade is preparing for their Tu B’Shvat presentation on Wed. Feb. 8.

In addition, rehearsals are just underway for the Spring Musical, “The Wizard of Oz”. As usual, this production will ‘Wow’ everyone!

All of the grades perform songs at the grade level Shabbat dinners (Kdg. and 1st grade did a fabulous job at theirs!). More will follow.

The entire school is in preparation for Chanukah, singing Chanukah songs throughout the day. Our school wide assembly/service takes place on Dec. 16, at 11:30 a.m., the last day of school before winter break, and all parents are invited.

Watch for details about all of these exciting musical extravaganzas!
