Music

The music program at Wise is made up of a variety of components. The School has a vast choral program, a beginning instrumental program, and weekly music classes.

The choral music program is comprised of three choral groups: a choir, chorus, and vocal ensemble. These groups perform at a variety of events for the Elementary School and the community.

In the beginning instrumental music program, students are offered the violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet or trumpet. They take a group lesson one day a week after School and a private lesson during the School day. In addition, those children who have played their instrument for a year or more are eligible to play in the School orchestra, which rehearses one day a week.

In their weekly music classes, students learn songs related to holidays and customs. They learn about composers, music appreciation, music history, and the basic elements of music. Each grade level has a presentation of a holiday or an event, with music and dance being a major component of the program.
