The mathematics program taps into students' innate curiosity and passion for learning. Problem solving, logical reasoning, and real-life application of mathematical concepts are strongly emphasized, along with mastery of basic computation skills. Students apply math concepts of number sense, operations, geometry, measurement, statistics, data analysis, and probability in flexible ability groups at each grade level.
Units of study integrate technology with mathematical thinking, and students learn through discovery and use a variety of tools to achieve proficiency. In all grades, students communicate their understanding of mathematics orally and in writing.
Our mathematics program addresses the wide range of students’ skills and abilities and meets the California State Standards for Mathematics.
