A recent picture from out school newsletter shows our sixth grade students on the high ropes course, and it mirrors the personal “high” today I am feeling having just returned late yesterday afternoon from our class retreat. We spent two days at Camp Hess Kramer pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone into new physical, emotional and spiritual boundaries. At the retreat the students hiked, participated in team building challenges, danced, led the morning service, and wrote personal reflections on who they want to be at their graduation this June. Our theme of “Hineini” was woven throughout the two days, as each child and adult was personally fully present and had their own unique moment of showing up for something exciting. It was an experience I know that I will not forget, and one that all of our students and teachers have been changed by.
