Part of the magic of working in an Elementary School is seeing the relationships that develop between students and their teachers. Last week our classes began, and I can’t tell you how many parents and students came to tell me how perfect the match is with their teacher, how exciting and interesting their teacher is, and how much they are already learning. I am blessed to have a staff of outstanding teachers in general education, Hebrew/Judaic, specialists and coaches, and we all are lucky to receive the individual gifts they each bring to the classroom.
Next week at our Back to School Nights you will have an opportunity to meet these teachers and learn more specific information about your child’s classroom curriculum. This year we are trying a couple of new things for these evenings. First of all, we have divided them into three separate nights. Sixth grade will meet on Tuesday, grades 3 – 5 will meet on Wednesday, and Kdg – grade 2 will meet on Thursday. The second change is that we are not having an overall school presentation, but rather you will go directly to the classroom. The teachers will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. and we will end promptly at 8:00 p.m. Please remember these evenings are for parents only, and make sure you are in the room on time as there is a great deal of information to share in only one hour. I know you will come away from this night as impressed as I am with your child’s class and I look forward to sharing this special evening with you.
