Last week the sense of school spirit was alive and well at Stephen S. Wise Elementary School! We started the week with a pep rally for all of our 4th – 6th grade students at Milken Community High School. The kids arrived at the school and had their faces painted, hair sprayed, and were ready to cheer for the JV Basketball team. It was an exciting game, and we were especially happy to celebrate a hard-fought Milken victory. This event was a great bonding experience as we created a sense of our school community that was truly K-12th grade.

Two days later we had our first Student Council Spirit Day when we celebrated Twin Day on campus. The students came dressed up with their groups of friends, and we had a wonderful morning assembly to recognize their creativity. Young and old, including the staff, were excited to show their school spirit with creative outfits that were matching from hair to jerseys. Again we strengthened our community with a wonderful day, and we are all looking forward to our next student council event.

This week we have been busy with lots of learning activities, assessments, basketball team workouts, play practices, and much more. It is hard to see that our vacation is soon here, but I am confident we are all eager for a well-deserved break. I hope you all have time to relax, reconnect as families, celebrate the New Year, and then come back ready to get back into action.

Happy New Year!
