Dr. Waller, a reading specialist at Wise, has been in the field of education for over 40 years working with children, teachers and parents. As a teacher and reading specialist, she has taught at the college level, worked as an educational consultant for teachers and parents and written books for Disney/Hyperion and created educational products for M&M/Mars Candy Company. Dr. Waller was awarded the University of Cincinnati’s College of Education Distinguished Alumni Award.
Dr. Waller was one of the founders of the Los Angeles Children’s Museum and was on the California Advisory Board of Teach for America.
She presently is on the board of the Open Door Fund of Putney Student Travel which awards community service travel grants to teenagers in need.
Dr. Waller’s enthusiasm for reading is contagious as she provides extra help or enrichment to her students.
