Miss Bolkin was born and raised in Los Angeles, where she grew up visiting her mother's classroom on her days off from school. Seeing the impact that her mother had on her students year after year helped mold her love of the teaching profession. Miss Bolkin graduated from San Diego State University in 2008 with a BA in Liberal Studies. In 2009, she graduated with her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Miss Bolkin taught 4th grade at Emek Hebrew Academy from 2009-2011, where she was lucky enough to begin her teaching career at the same school as her mother, who served as both her inspiration and as her mentor. After moving into the city, Miss Bolkin then taught 3rd grade for two years at Yeshiva Aharon Yaakov Ohr Eliyahu. Since the summer of 2011, she has also worked as the Camp Director for Destination Science Summer Camp in both Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.
Miss Bolkin is a science lover at heart. Ever since she was a little girl, she has been fascinated by science. She owned a very extensive rock collection and crystal growing kit, and you could always find her mixing a magic potion and creating chemical reactions in her family's kitchen. Miss Bolkin is thrilled to be teaching science at Wise School, and finally being able to combine her love of science and teaching in a school that supports curiosity, discovery, and creativity.
