Faye Jeser was the head of the Judaic and Secular Music programs as well as the Performing Arts programs at the Moriah School of Englewood, a 1000 student Jewish Day School for 17 years.
Faye studied piano and voice at Julliard School of Music and graduated from the Crane School of Music at the SUNY in Potsdam. She was one of six seniors selected to perform with the Crane Symphony Orchestra and played Webern’s Concertstuck.
Mrs. Jeser has taught in JCCs, public and Hebrew Day Schools for over thirty years. She has directed both youth and adult choirs, and has produced and directed shows such as Lion King, Joseph, Fiddler, Milk & Honey, and The Creation. She has also worked with Shlomo Carlebach, Theodore Bikel, Mike Burstyn, Ron Eliron, and other well-known performers.
In addition to teaching, Mrs. Jeser is also a performer of Jewish, Chassidic and Hebrew folk music throughout the city. As a part time cantor, Faye also leads High Holy Day services at a small congregation in upstate New York.
