Every year, students, parents, and teachers at Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School look forward to the singing, dancing, and acting of the Spring Musical. Don’t be fooled by the word “spring”, though. Auditions begin in November, shortly after Thanksgiving, and students from Grades 4, 5, and 6 rehearse twice weekly throughout the winter months into spring. During these vital rehearsals, students learn how to sing and harmonize, dance and act, and express themselves in a truly unique way.
As production time nears, the Grades 3 and 4 chorus members learn selected pieces from the show, and Grades 5 and 6 students are chosen to be the behind-the-scenes “secret agents” that compose the stage crew. This energetic student involvement, coupled with the theatrical genius of the directors and the caring generosity of school parents, makes it quite clear that the entire Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School theatre experience is one of enthusiasm, excitement, and community.
