Mrs. Itri’s philosophy of education is that children need structure in a creative, innovative, and fun environment that inspires them to learn
She received her B.A. in 1979 from Stonehill College in Massachusetts.
An English major, she chose her minor field as her profession and began teaching in Brockton, Massachusetts, where she taught second grade and kindergarten. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Mrs. Itri taught Fourth Grade in the inner city. She joined the Wise faculty in 1987.
In 1999, Mrs. Itri received an Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award from the Johns Hopkins University Center for Gifted and Talented Youth. She is an experienced teacher of the Meisner Technique of Acting. Mrs. Itri has directed the Elementary School spring musicals including Annie, Grease, Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, Sound of Music, Oh, the Places You’ll Go, Joseph, Oliver, Peter Pan, Annie and Bye Bye Birdie.
