“The icing on my cake…” is how Miri Gavrieli-Hod views the students that she teaches. Having received her teaching degree from the Cleveland College of Jewish Studies, she furthered her schooling by specializing in early childhood education. Her love and compassion for this profession made her realize that teaching is an opportunity to connect with each student on a daily basis. Recognizing the students’ individuality while helping them grow and thrive in a positive and nurturing environment are characteristics of Mrs. Hod’s classroom. A teacher at Wise since 1987, she fosters an exciting atmosphere while bringing the Hebrew language alive. Mrs. Hod believes in keeping a strong connection with Israel by integrating Jewish traditions and heritage into the daily lives of her students.
Mrs. Hod feels the best place to be is in the classroom where, “The positive energy and spirited enthusiasm of the children keep me going.” She believes the most important task of a teacher is to create positive attitudes and lasting memories.
