Mr. Starr completed his education at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto. He was a Canadian All-Star in both basketball and football and was voted to the All-Canadian team in both sports. He also competed and excelled in hockey, track and field, and was sixth in the Province of Ontario in throwing the discus.
He began working at Wise in 1977-78. He worked for the American Heart Association as the chairperson of the Los Angeles Branch Task Force. He is the California state representative for the Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart programs. He is also involved in the California Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and has been for many years.
Mr. Starr’s philosophy is to serve as a positive role model, guiding children to reach their potential in fitness, athletics, sports, and health. He hopes to tap in to the uniqueness of all his students as they grow and develop.
