Hillary Peterson was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California. Ms. Peterson graduated university with honors, with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. After undergraduate study, she worked with several inquiry-based science education programs and the National Estuary Program in San Luis Obispo County. After earning her teaching credential, Miss Peterson taught Grade 4 with the Los Angeles Unified School District for several years. During this time, she also assumed various elementary science teaching leadership roles at her school and throughout the District.
Ms. Peterson is inspired by children’s natural curiosity and affinity for learning. Through teaching science with an inquiry-based approach, Ms. Peterson hopes to ignite in her students a lifelong appreciation and curiosity about how the world works. She hopes that her students will go on to make a positive difference in the world.
