Mrs. Austad is a proud alumna of the Elementary School. She is honored to be back teaching at the school that she loved so much.
She received both her B.A. in Child Development and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Northridge. While obtaining her degree she worked as both Religious School Coordinator and Preschool Assistant Director for Temple Beth Haverim. She also worked as a Youth Counselor for a residential treatment facility. Her previous experiences include working as an assistant teacher in Grades 3-5 at Valley Beth Shalom Temple.
Mrs. Austad is a firm believer in creating a safe, harmonious classroom where all learning styles and needs of her students can be met. She is committed to creating a classroom environment that is stimulating and challenging for all her students. She believes that school should be fun, motivating, and a place where children will find success.
Mrs. Austad is excited to share her love of learning, knowledge of Hebrew, and insight in Judaic Studies.
